IVR (Interactive Voice Response)

A voice menu that routes callers.

Definition

An IVR is the phone voice menu (“Press 1 for …”) that routes callers to the right queue or handles simple requests itself.

In practice

A good IVR is short, asks only what is needed and offers a call-back. It can recognise the number and route known customers directly. An AI voice assistant replaces the keypad menu with a natural conversation.

At Debesis

In Debesis the IVR controls the queues and can include announcements on opening hours, waiting time and data protection.
